Due to circumstances that had happened on Monday, May 7th I was locked out of my blog here, and all of it's pages too. So, without waiting to see the outcome...which is at least a 7 business day wait....no guarantees....I started a NEW BLOG right away. Yes, it is still called LilacsNDreams, and all of the pages have been added to it as well. In fact, when you click on the tabs above to go to pages here....you should be landing onto my New LilacsNDreams Blog. IF not, well, here are the addys for you to use to get there, ok? Hello, and Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies page. Always happy to have a visitor stopping by, and sharing with all of us too. Sorry, like with some of my other places I have been missing in action a little bit. Trying to complete different jobs around the house, cleaning up after contractors, painting...that has been pushed off, and needs to be done, and etc. Also, working on downsizing my collections, and some treasures I have repurposed too. Getting ready for the big move. Not across state, but out of state, and off to another state with some new experiences to have:) By end of summer, early fall I hope to be Texas bound....or sooner maybe too. Just day by day dealing with everything. But, till then I would like to downsize a little bit more, make packing and moving much easier, and of course....make way for some shopping of new treasures too!:)...LOL:)

I have roamed in, and out of stores a lil bit lately....weather getting nicer out. Don't want to buy too much as it would defeat the purpose of downsizing, but yet....so hard to pass up on some of them treasures out there too!:)

Welcome everyone to Thrift Store Junkies. WOW! I cannot believe I have over looked this page with my site too....urgh! I am soooo wanting to go out and hit the thrift stores, and in about a week they will have city wide garage sales here, and I still won't be able to go. Why? I am working really really hard on downsizing everything with us moving soon. Gonna be moving across a few states, so it is best to downsize my collections, and things for now. Besides, I get to the new place I will be in a new area, different thrift stores, different flea markets, and it could be fun all over again!:) So, till then I will try really really hard to keep ya'll updated here. I apologize ahead of time for the delays of coming by here, and please ask you to bear with me. Sooon, hopefully soon, I can start filling this up as I have intended, and better maintain this too.

Happy Thrifting and Junking Everyone

Happy Thrifting and Junking Everyone, and Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies Page. Always happy to see you, and have you drop by. Sorry, I have not quite completed my list of goals for the beginning of the year. My main issue was to find a schedule that works for me to do my blogging with, research topics for my main blog page, and get a schedule going that I can accomplish these things in a timely fashion. I know with spring, and summer time it is a bit harder to keep with it due to we have to go Thrifting!! But, I already have a solution to that, and it is in the workings:)

We haven't really had snow here, way different winter, and I am not complaining. Generally during the winter is when I myself slow down on thrifting a little bit because of the weather. This year the reason has been due to house remodeling being done....never know when contractors will be here to work. And, another reason for me has been to remove some of my inventory, and if not removing pieces trying to repurpose some of them into something useful for the homes that I can offer to you. 

Right now I have dried glue on my finger tips. Trying to glue some lace to some of these adorable little saucer plates. Such a yummy blue, and pink, and I happen to have a blue lace that blends really well with the blue in the rim of these saucers. Just takes time as you have to hold the lace in place for a bit for it to actually take, or want to stick and hold. I was happy to find some lace with my inventory....since everything is everywhere in the house with making room for work being done. Now, if I could only find them darling little blue tied ribbons I know I have I would really be set. Hmmm...have some ideas, and will have to get to the containers to open them, and investigate. 

I have a black cloche stand I have been working on. The mod podge sealer got kind of heavy on it, and make a few bubbles that I am not happy with. So, in order to cover some of that a bit, but still make the stand look good I have been working with some music paper, and then found a white ribbon I think will work with it too. I also have a white base glass cloche that is drying with some music paper in the center of it, and this afternoon will spray a light coat of mod podge sealer on it, and I think call that one done too. I am getting anxious for some of these pieces to be completed, and to get them listed for others to see, and purchase too. I will show some pics when I get to this point for ya'll.


Well, I suppose, I have taken a long enough break, and I can peel the glue from my finger tips now...LOL:). So, that means back to work on things. Closing of Picnik Photo Editing and Petition to Stop This!

Who do you use for your photo editing programs? There are some great ones out there. For me, many of them are complicating, and there are sooo many steps you have to do to have something simple done for others to see. That is why I like using Picnik. I don't have to sign in, go into use whenever I want, easy to use, no hassles, for free quite a few nice little tools to use, for premium fees you of course would have more tools, and is just a great place to use! Well, in my email I received they have announced their closing of April 19, 2012. They are refunding money back to everyone for premium fees. Even if you have gone all year, have one day left to use, they are refunding you in full. See, great place! At same time you are also being referred to using Google Plus for your photo editing which I can only assume means using their picasa albums they have. Sad because this is not as good as what picnik is for doing editing. Many photographers also use Picnik, and have been pleased with their services. 

I enjoy Google Plus, and have liked it. But, for social networking I am enjoying it. Not for photo editing, and for that reason feels like the Google Plus is being pushed at you with this issue too. Below you will find a copy of the email I received. Please, read it, and then follow the links to where you can also sign a petition to try to stop this procedure too. Welcome Thrift Store Junkies Crafters Handmades Repurposed Upcycled Creators. Glad to have you stop by, and visit with Thrift Store Junkies. Always happy to see you visit. 

Well, winter time, and things are usually a bit slower. The weather has been great here, love it, different kind of winter, and it sure would have been super to get out and do some thrifting too. But, my problem is there is no where to put anything right now. We still have contractors, and a plumber coming in and out of the house, doesn't help to clean because everything gets dusty, I have most of my craft stuff in boxes and containers piled in the dining room, boxes in our bedroom, different pieces of glass and plates sitting on a coffee table covered to help protect from some of this dust here, and so on. They have moved location on what they are working on upstairs, so we had to make room for them.

I do hope everyone has been able to get out, and do some thrifting yourselves. Can never do enough of it, and I sooo miss treasure hunting right now, and digging for things too. Soon the weather will be even warmer, spring, and I can really kick my feet to go looking. Can't wait.

Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies page of LilacsNDreams! Always happy to have you stop by for a visit. Beautiful weather here, and loving it too! Wonderful Christmas Day, and I do hope it was the same for all of you too. Got to eat a little bit, share some time with family, friends, and acquaintenances. Maybe made some new friends on this day too. I hope that is was a great day for all of you reading this. 

Here it is the New Year...almost. In just a few more days. What are your New Year Resolutions? Anything big? I know some do not like to make a list as it can also be depressing, or upsetting when things are not completed in full. I myself usually do a mental list of things. Nothing big, nothing I cannot handle, and if I can complete it before the end of the year...I then will add another 1-2 things to it to keep me busy, and pushing me along.

I am sooo wanting to go thrifting, and junking! Especially after the first of the year. Some will be cleaning out things in their homes to make room for something else they got in place of it. The temptations are there for me to go shopping, but still have some inventory reductions to work with here at home. And....looks like we might be moving too! So, I have to watch what I am doing, but know that in the new area, new state that I will be able to find more treasures, and different pieces too. I look forward to visiting the BIG flea market that takes place on the 1st weekend of every month too. 

I wish all of you a Happy New Year! May it be all you plan it to be, wish it to be, many great sales for the sellers, and many found treasures for those treasure hunters too! Hello fellow Thrift Store Junkies, and Welcome to my Blog! Happy to see you drop by. Hope everyone is having a fabulous holiday season so far. 

So, has anyone been doing any thrifting lately? I have noticed, and have seen others comment about the same thing too....More people are thrifting this year for the holidays. Whether it is for gift giving, finding things to restyle with, repurpose, upcycle, and etc. More have been shopping with Thrift Stores, and the Second Hand Stores. Not a thing wrong with it! I LOVE it, and enjoy doing it myself too. But, unfortunately, I have not had much time at all to do any of that. So sorry as I really enjoy showing things here that I have found when thrifting. 

After the holidays people will be cleaning out their homes again making room for the new they have gotten. I myself will enjoy doing some leisurely thrifting too.

Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies with LilacsNDreams!:) Happy to have you here, and thanks for stopping by. As some of you may, or may not know, I have been home sick for over a week now. We think I might have come close to, or got a touch of walking pneumonia. This is especially depressing to me because this weekend, the first weekend of November a "Girls Weekend" had been planned with a few friends. All of us were traveling to a new area, gonna spend a couple of nights so we could roam the area for stores, thrifts, and fleas that had been targeted. I was soooo anxious, planning, getting travel supplies all ready, and then Boom! I get sick, thought I could shake it off, and over a week later I still have it. I have enough that it will keep me from traveling, and of course not wanting others to get sick from me either. 

So, I wish them all well with their travels this weekend, be safe, enjoy, have soooo much fun, and hope they find many treasures too!:)

Ok, pictures you are seeing here was one of my last thrifts I had done. As we can see I kind of lean more towards glassware a bit. But, I like doing some of the same things when I repurpose with them, love colored glassware, and there are many possibilities with the pieces too!

Hello, and Welcome to Thrift Store Junkies! Here you will see pictures

for a piece I brought home on Monday, is now in my bedroom, and
waiting for me to clean it more, polish it, put the missing drawer back
into it, and....the bench that came with it I need to get by it too! Those 2 items did not make it into these pictures, sorry. I first seen this I thought of my grandmother, and the bedroom set she use to have that was in such great condition too! She had the vanity, dresser, and the headboard that all matched, great wood color, and I can still remember helping her clean at home, and polishing the set for her too.

So, anyway, hubby told me to get this home it was my anniversary gift. I hesitated as you know how old wood is, seen some flaws with this, seen some minor places where things were done a bit differently. But, still reminded me of grandmother, and fits with our bedroom perfectly!:) I even found her old jewelry box that use to sit in the middle drawer which I have added to this myself too. Only thing grandma didn't have was the bench like I do:)

Thrift Store Treasures Found From Past Week. Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams Thrift Store Junkies! Glad to have you here:) Below you will see different pictures of things I found while Thrifting on Friday, and a few from earlier in the week too. Hmmm...what to do with them, what to do. I was thinking of keeping the lamp for me. Hey, gotta treat myself now and then too:) LOL:) I was also thinking of painting the wood to blend in more with our decor at home too. The other things....Well, got some ideas. The plates with the glass candle sticks are ready for attaching, going to make it a 3 piece set of matching. 2 of the glass candle holders are exactly alike, and the 3rd glass candle holder is like the 2 matching, but a bit shorter, and more rounded top.

Wood Lamp does work, has a bit of an older cord with it, but looks made too. Top is like a wooden bowl that can be found, and etc. 

Close up shows a milk white glass candle holder, glass candle holder, green glass bowl with tarnished base, the wire hanger in back of picture was on the small green glass bowl up front. 

2 hankies, 2 cloth napkins matching, green and white lace, a pink and white ribbon, and some knitting needles with 2 each for the colors I found. Got me some ideas for these:)

Actually I had found together 4 saucers with no cups, designed rim, silver line rim, and cute pink rose in center. 3 of them will be getting repurposed with the glass candle holders also in view here too.

Set of 3 will be sold together too. 2 glass candle holders are identical in height, 3rd glass candle holder is also identical to the other 2 except for the height...very slightly shorter, and has a more rounded top.

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Thrift Store Junkies! Pictured above you will see 1 metal tin tray I had found with others....that I did not get pictured yet. Along with this tray I found one that is soooo retro looking, a red tray, and then I found a black tray that has a floral design with it. I will have to get more pictures to better show you what I had found. 

There are sooo many things that can be done with these trays. They can be used as memo boards...magnets do work on them, I have seen many make chalkboards with them, others have used some mod podge with pretty papers, added a little lace, some keys, ribbon, and etc....they are all adorable when done!:)

Not much else to show right now. Sorry, but not doing much Thrifting this weekend. When hubby is home kind of hard to get anything done around him....LOL:) Hopefully Monday I can make a run. Mikasa Thrift Store Finds Repurposed

Welcome to LilacsNDreams Thrift Store Junkies page! Glad to have you here. I thought I would stop by quick to show you a picture of some more finds I forgot to show before. You will see 3 plates with this picture, and 2 glass candle holders too. I have decided to make a 3 tier plate with these, and crossing my fingers it will turn out as I am imagining too:) The pieces blend very well together, and the plates along with the candle holders are in a like new condition too! Fabulous coloring, and shine:)

I started gluing some of the pieces tonight. So, if you are wanting to maybe see the finished product hop on over, and keep updated with my Second Time Treasures page where I have been showing completed projects I have been accomplishing so far.

Thrift Store Finds for LilacsNDreams Thrift Store Junkies

Here is a full view of items purchased to repurpose with. Came home with a box full, and was happy with my finds so far. They all have been washed, dried, and now waiting for me to glue them, and do what I would like to do. I got 2 cheese condiment cloches, glass candle holder, 3 green plates...New, unused, adorable blue plate, stoneware candle holder, and the aqua blue tall vase/holder. 

Closer look at the 2 cheese glass dome cloches, and the tarnished look stoneware candle holder. Possibilities, right?:)

The tall aqua blue vase I probably will put in my kitchen bay window with some flowers...love the color in this! The glass candle holder is for a 3 tier plate I will be repurposing. I have another glass candle holder matching this. I know I could mix, and match a bit, but if I can match things up with the glassware, I will surely do that:)

More green coloring seen in person. Tag plates...dinner plate, and 2 salad plates with a brown rubbed like design used lightly through out the plates. These were new, had tags, and will be fabulous when done repurposing them:)

This plate was adorable, and I could not pass up. It has some crackling in it, back side is all white, I just love the button design that is around the rim of the plate itself!:) Cute, and will have a use some where. Hmmm....I just remembered, I do have a white ceramic candle holder that was not used yet. That might just be the one to go with this plate too:)

On Sunday hubby sleeping from working ditches all morning. I went into town to get few items needed for his work, and home. Then....why not? I shot over to the next town to visit the Good Will there. I don't frequent them often as their prices are terrible, but was fortunate with items found on Monday. I also got a St Johns purse that I honestly believe to be brand new, and unused. I was happy with my box full of items, and only paying $10 to have some more things to repurpose with too.

I try really hard to show the before, and then the after pictures so that you can see what was done. I enjoy repurposing things, being creative, and I hope you all will enjoy with me too.
